It can stimulate collagen and elastin, while providing immediate results for facial volumization and contouring. It’s ideal for contouring the cheekbones, chin, and jawlines. However, it can also be used for necklines, as well as improving texture and tone to thighs and knees.  Hands are another area that can be volumized using Radiesse.

This treatment can be done in two sessions, spaced six to eight weeks apart. After this, maintenance isn’t needed for one to two years.

Sculptra

Sculptra is an injectable used to stimulate your own collagen slowly over time. This creates natural volumization to achieve a more youthful appearance.

Sculptra helps stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production, in order to help restore its inner structure and increase facial volume that has been lost to aging. This is what separates it from hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers.  It is made with a biocompatible material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is naturally absorbed by the body. It can be used to treat a number of areas, including the full face, chest lines, hips, and buttocks.

This treatment comes in the form of 1 to 4 sessions spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart. The results last for around 2 years before maintenance is required.

In terms of downtime, you should avoid makeup application and exercise for 24 hours after the treatment.
